K-array Selected for Luxury Eco Hotel in Austrian Mountains

In the small Austrian town of Leogang in the Zell am See region, vacationers have been frequenting the Embachhof, a 17th century farmhouse-turned holiday hotel, for more than 50 years. The owners, the Madreiter family, were among the first families to rent rooms to guests in the 1950s and have recently expanded the grounds to include a village of luxury chalets. Founders of the Leogang mountain railways, the Madreiters have been a symbol for innovation and a pioneering spirit, so it is not surprising that they have created one of the most beautiful one-of-a-kind hotels in Austria. The 4-star hotel, Puradies, is an exclusive eco-friendly resortthat draws upon its natural surroundings using wood from the alpine forest and serving organic produce and products from the farm.

To integrate an audio system in the new structure, owners brought in interior architect Christoph Piffer and system engineer, K-array product specialist Karl Wienand who collaborated on the design of a K-array system.

Selected for their ability to integrate with the impressive interior design, K-array’s loudspeakers were installed in numerous areas throughout the hotel in both new and existing structuresthat were redesigned, coordinating perfectly with the modern style of the country house architecture.

In the main bar and lounge, 13 Anakonda KAN200 speakers were chained and paired with 3 Rumble KU210 subwoofers. In the smoking room, a Vyper KV50 system was installed using two of the loudspeakers paired with a Rumble KU210 subwoofer. In the library, 4 Lyzard KZ12 miniature line arrays were hidden among the bookshelves and combined with 2 Rumble KU44 subwoofers.

In the existing restaurant, another system of Lyzards were installed using 14 units with 7 Rumble KU44 subwoofers. Another 12 Lyzards and 6 Rumble KU44 subs were used for the audio system in the new restaurant. The system in the Beauty and Wellness Center called for an astounding 25 Tornado KT2CW point sources plus a Rumble KU44 sub. All the systems were powered by a combination of amplifiers in the Kommander line: 5 x KA14, 1 x KA24 and 1 x KA84.

Once the installation was complete, both Wienand and Piffer heard nothing but glowing praise from the Madreiters:

“We are really happy with the installation and excited that the guests can enjoy both the calming winters and beautiful summers here a Puradies with the highest-quality audio solutions and all the other luxury amenities we have implemented to ensure a wonderful alpine experience.” -The Madreiters, hotel’s owners
