ClearOne (NASDAQ: CLRO), a global provider of audio and visual communication solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a new patent relating to ClearOne’s audio spatial rendering conferencing technology.
On August 30, 2016, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) issued United States Patent number 9,432,237, which relates to a system and method in which two or more communication devices exchange information about the relative spatial positions of their respective microphones and speakers, send a number of microphone audio signals from a transmitter to a receiver, and render the received number of microphone audio signals among the receiver-side speakers. The benefits of this patent include providing an automatic way for communication systems to transmit and receive spatially positioned audio, which can improve intelligibility and reduce listener fatigue in a conference.
This new patent is part of ClearOne’s growing patent portfolio that currently includes over 100 patents and pending patent applications covering multiple new technologies in the fields of audio and video processing, audio and video streaming, and communication technologies. This ongoing development of new patents continues ClearOne’s market leadership position, strong history of product innovation, and development of cutting-edge technologies.
