The Juice Goose CQ Series sequencers require no set-up or programming. All models have all the circuitry needed for timing and communications with other CQ units. RJ-45 cable connection allows them to function on a plug-and-play basis.
This product group contains six models of power sequencers, including the only in-wall device for powered speakers (CQ-1, List $216) and the only pre-assembled multiple circuit sequencer (CQ PD1-4, List $559). There are also seven remote control accessories.
The Furman contractor series of power sequencers is accompanied by a manual with ten pages of setup instructions and a certification requirement. The mainstay units are the rack mount CN 1800 (List $499) and CN2400 (List $575). Two extension units (CN-15MP and CN-20MP) are available to switch single remote circuits that are controlled by the master CN device.
Middle Atlantic has two rack mounted sequencers, PDS-615R (List $587) and PDS-620R (List $695) and a raceway + component based sequencing system that requires design and assembly by integrators. While this product philosophy provides flexibility in features, it does so at a great expense in terms of labor cost and project time to completion. Further, the Middle Atlantic hardware costs are greater than the Juice Goose alternative.
Although Surgex has a number of sophisticated power control products, they don’t have much to offer in the way of a simple, economical power sequencer. Their SEQ-1U (List $859) does include their high end power conditioning. But, this rack mount piece is quite a bit more expensive than Juice Goose and is their only sequencing model.
