Renkus-Heinz will unveil several new product lines and offer cutting-edge demonstrations at the 2018 InfoComm show in Las Vegas. The company will exhibit at booth C970, with loudspeaker demonstrations every other hour in Demo Room N101.
Renkus-Heinz new IC-Live X series is the next generation of its award-winning, high-powered IC-Live steerable arrays. With greater power density, higher output, simple integrated hardware, and a unique coaxial driver arrangement, the IC-Live X will bring a new level of flexibility for integrators, contractors, and production/rental houses. IC-Live X introduces the Acoustic Source Multiplier (ASM) waveguide, which allows the high-frequency section to be coaxially mounted and reduces apparent source spacing by an additional 50%, pushing out the onset of gradient lobes an additional octave into the highest frequencies. The coaxial driver arrangement, low apparent source spacing, and high driver count allow for free movement of the apparent acoustic center along the length of the array.
The IC Live X series includes two freely combinable steerable modules: the ICL-X and ICL-XL. The ICL-X is a compact, high output steerable array module comprising six one-inch compression drivers on an ASM Waveguide, coaxially mounted on two eight-inch woofers, with eight high-power amplifier/DSP channels. The ICL-X is steerable down to 1,500 Hz and can be deployed as a high-output digitally steerable line array up to 12 boxes tall, delivering consistent coverage and clarity for even the biggest shows. It also can be used standalone as small mains loudspeakers or for portable, center channel, or fill applications. The ICL-XL is an extended ICL-X module with four one-inch compression drivers and four eight-inch woofers and is steerable down to 750 Hz. ICL-XL freely arrays with ICL-X modules, and adding an ICL-XL above, below, or both above and below an array of ICL-Xs enables superior LF control at lower system cost.
The IC-Live X series also introduces the matching ICL-XS and ICL-118S subwoofers. With four eight-inch woofers, the ICL-XS is the first dedicated column subwoofer for the IC-Live family. It’s intended to be integrated below arrays of ICL-X and ICL-XL, allowing integrators and contractors to seamlessly blend mains and subwoofers into one discrete array that offers full-range performance, consistent coverage, and minimal aesthetic intrusion. The ICL-X-118S is a compact, high-output subwoofer designed for large-scale events or venues with high LF SPL/extension requirements. It offers a single, high-excursion 18-inch woofer in an optimized bass reflex cabinet, powered by a Renkus-Heinz SA-2000 amplifier for nearly endless power.
Renkus-Heinz is also introducing the new DC Series Directivity Control vertical column speakers. The first product in the series is the DC12/2, a self-powered column speaker with 12 2-inch full range drivers, 12 amplifier/DSP channels, and predefined, user-selectable presets. The presets allow the user to choose between directivity options to deliver more consistent coverage than a typical column loudspeaker can attain. To ensure simple out-of-the-box performance and reduce setup complexity, the presets can be selected using a smartphone. The DC12/2 is intended to be used standalone and does not stack. Applications include main speakers in small venues such as boardrooms and small gymnasiums, fill speakers for transepts or balcony fill, choir monitoring, and overflow room fill speakers.
The new IC12/3 is a full-blown Iconyx loudspeaker in a smaller, high-value package. It incorporates all the features that have made Iconyx an industry-leading steerable solution, including RHAON control, beamware integration, Dante or AES input options, and RJ45 or fiber optic network connections. The IC12/3 has 12 3-inch full range drivers with broad horizontal coverage and 12 amplifier/DSP channels to deliver high granularity for maximum steerability. Up to three IC12/3s can be stacked. As with all Iconyx loudspeakers, several variations of the IC12/3 will be offered.
In Demo Room N101, TiMax will work with Renkus-Heinz to demonstrate its Immersion Zone spatial reinforcement and immersive audio experience, including a selection of static and dynamic spatial 3D audio segments rendered by TiMax onto a multi-channel immersive audio system. Presenters will also be localized by TiMax object-based spatial reinforcement using the TiMax SoundHub 500Series software, including StageSpace, the most recent release for the TiMax SoundHub suite of immersive audio processors.
Renkus-Heinz will also host its 27th annual Consultants Breakfast at InfoComm on Thursday, June 7, from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel, Room II/III. The breakfast features guest presenters Dr. Wolfgang Ahnert of ADA Acoustic & Media Consultants GmbH, discussing “Immersive Sound – A New Approach in Sound Reinforcement”; and Dave Haydon, director of Out Board UK, discussing “The Bleeding Edge of Spatial Reinforcement and Immersive Audio Rendering: TiMax StageSpace.” To register to attend the breakfast, please contact sales@renkus-heinz.com.
This will be a very exciting InfoComm show so make a point of adding Renkus-Heinz to your list, at InfoComm booth C970 and demo room N101. For more information about Renkus-Heinz products, please visit www.renkus-heinz.com.
