2016 was a busy, and crazy year for us here at Pacific AV! We had some awesome moments, with the close of some very exciting projects. We met new dealers, and were involved with many demo’s, site surveys, and other meetings. It has been a whirlwind, and and we are hopeful that 2017 will be another amazing year.
We began representation of Linea Research, which we now represent for all of California, Southern Nevada, and Hawaii. We expanded our representation of ClearOne, which now includes Hawaii and Arizona. Later in 2016, we proudly announced that we were representing K-Array, which we now represent in Southern California and Southern Nevada. We added Tatung Interactive displays, and we’ve had fun sharing this neat, and very innovative product with our dealer-base. We began the work of getting the word out about a few lines we represent, including Klik.
We’ve done lots of demo’s, and have received lots of good feedback regarding Klik. At the end of the year, we had about 4 months in for the roll-out of the new M and C-series power amplifiers from Linea Research. Since LR was essentially an OEM amp and DSP company, they were mostly unknown in the industry. Fast-forward to now, they are now becoming better known, and many people have seen/heard these amplifiers and DSP’s for themselves.
We’ve had a great time sharing Linea Research with all of our customers. People are stunned after they hear this amp in person. It is truly something special. We’ve been traveling with Rik Kirby, who started Allied SMD, in the middle of 2016.
We’ve showed a variety of LR amps, including the Xib4, 44M20, 48M10, and the ASC48. More to come on the feedback we have received after all of these demo’s.
We hosted many lunch and learns, and began the work of sharing all the new features of ClearOne’s new Converge Pro 2 and Beam Forming Mic Array 2. People are already very excited about the new possibilities that these new products from ClearOne offer. We took part in a roadshow that ClearOne hosted. The one in our territory took place in Anaheim. All of the product directors were present, and Jason Ambion, John Nygren, Lewis Eig, and Frank Salazar presented. The event was well attended, and many walked away with great ideas on how to incorporate ClearOne into their designs/projects.
In the second half of the year, we did plenty of product demo’s, including Renkus-Heinz, K-Array, Linea Research (as mentioned above), Tatung, and InterM. We had some great installs as well.
Auvix Solutions did a great install using IC Live’s. Moises Tagle approached us early in 2016. He thought that IC Live would be the perfect fit for this church. We reviewed his design, and we too, agreed that IC Live was the right choice for this room. We set up a demo to show off the new IC Live Gen 5 arrays. After allowing the church to borrow the system for a few weeks, they signed off on the upgrades. The system includes a cardoid subwoofer array (not Renkus-Heinz) and other upgrades. To really customize and make the system blend in, custom color paint was done on the IC Live arrays. The system provided extremely consistent front-to-back coverage, and blends in seamlessly into architecture of the room.
We first met David of AV Technologies in early 2016, after someone from a church he was working with reached out to us, interested in Renkus-Heinz. After bringing the RH solution to David, he immediately saw the benefits of going with a steerable solution, considering the room was extremely reverberant. Working directly with us, we determined a few options to include Renkus-Heinz steerable loudspeakers. After two demo’s, and countless meetings, conference calls, and revisions, we determined that IC2 arrays would provide the best performance, and would address various aesthetic concerns that the church had. In addition, since there were contemporary services with a full band, IC2 provided the necessary steering and pattern control, while also providing full-spectrum reproduction. It was decided that this system would not have any subwoofers installed. The system was installed mid-year, and commissioned by Jeff of Pacific AV. The new system sounds stunning, and provides excellent intelligibility despite the multi-second RT60 time. The system has BSS processing, and Shure wireless miss with a Soundcraft digital mixing console. At a recent event, many commented on how amazing this new sound system was, a true testament to how fantastic the IC2 array boxes from Renkus-Heinz are. The install was fantastic. Great job to David, and everyone at AV Technologies!
We’d love to share more of our customer installations! If you have a project you would like us to mention, please contact us and we may be able to include you in one of our future blog posts!
