VERA36 PERFORMS AT THE RAVOLUTION MUSIC FESTIVAL IN VIETNAM

The Ravolution Music Festival is the biggest EDM (Electronic Dance Music) event in Vietnam.
A brand new festival experience for which leading rental company Phuc Thinh has been hired to provide the technical outfit outside the Saigon Exhibiton and Convention Center in Ho-Chi-Minh-City on December 8th. As the growth of EDM continues to thrive in Asia, the organisers wanted to set a new milestone for electric music, offering a new playground for all EDM fans in the country to celebrate the evolution of Rave. Joey Choi from Korean company Starnetworks supervised the entire  sound production and collaborated with Filmstar Co. Ltd. from Vietnam to meet the needs.

The stars of the evening were foremost Alan Walker, who presented his new title “Alone” alongside his other hit “Faded”. Wearing his trademark Hoodie and hiding his face behind a scarf, Alan Walker completed his 90 minutes long presentation par excellence, leaving his audience in high spirits.
Keeping up the beat was Dutch DJ R3HAB followed by one further highlight of the night, DJ KSHMR from sunny California.
20 000 spectators were raving through what seemed to be an endless night of partying and dancing.

Neo Yang, production manager responsible for the technical side of the festival explains: “The show lasted for nine hours, so a reliable system was most important. As I have worked with Star Sound (a division of Starnetworks) from Korea before, I knew the TW AUDiO products and was sure to succeed with this system. The design for the show came from me and to put such a large system together was quite a challenge.”

42 x VERA36 on stage made up the main PA with 14 x S33 and 18 x BSX in front of the stage. 6 x VERA36 aside were used as outfill, hanging by the side of the stage.
The DJ monitoring consisted of 6 x VERA36 and 2 x S33, plus 8 x C15 as stage monitors.
For further front and stagefills served 4 x T24N and 4 x T24P.
The entire system was powered by 26 x Powersoft K3DSP, 4 x Lab.gruppen PLM12K44, 2 x Lab.gruppen PLM20000Q and 2 x Lab.gruppen PLM10000Q.

Joey Choi comments on the systems configuration:
“I used the Ease Focus software to find out the best configuration of the subwoofer array and to spread the energy evenly, yet powerful. SVIP (most expensive seats) area were located far outside, both side of the venue. To cover this area with enough subwoofer energy I’ve tried some different delay values, forming an arc, and hung an additional Vera36 array as outer fill. The Ease Focus simulation turned out to be absolutely precise, providing a very smooth frequency response. The overall sound was loud and clear but not harsh – perfect to listen to the music for a long time. The TW AUDiO system is my preferred choice for any production.”
