If you’re looking to add a loudspeaker system processor to upgrade an existing unit, to replace a failing/aging unit, or to add additional processing to your active loudspeaker system, we have a simple, yet very powerful product. We proudly represent Linea Research. Linea Research was formed in 2003 by Davey Smalley, Ben Ver, Pip Wilson and Paul Williams, all of whom had worked together previously in the professional audio industry. Their aim was to design, develop and market innovative professional audio equipment. Having spent much time doing basic research and developing critical pieces of technology, the company produced its first product, the X-Pod Class-D amplifier with integrated switched-mode power supply and DSP.
Due to the extensive experience of this team, they’re coming up with innovative audio products, and unlike other brands, they put numbers and sales to the side, focusing on audio quality. For stand-alone processors, Linea Research offers the ASC48. This 4 input, 8 output advanced system controller provides loads of flexibility, with high-performance, while providing excellent ease of use.
Here are some of the features of the ASC48:
- Analog, AES, and Dante (option) inputs and outputs
- Ethernet remote control
- 3rd Party Control via contact closures
- Manufactured, tested, and supported entirely in the UK
- Full front-panel user interface for control/adjustments
The advanced 96kHz DSP provides an array of unique and genuinely useful features. Because all aspects of the DSP algorithms are designed and hand crafted in house by Linea, they are not available on products from any other manufacturer. For example, LIR linear phase crossover filters which are as easy to use as more conventional filter shapes, and have less latency than FIR filters. Also the powerful VX Limiter suite which sports Peak, RMS and Excursion limiting, as well as multiband limiting for passive 2-way enclosures.
This is a powerful processor, with loads of processing power to properly dial in your loudspeaker system. With the addition of Dante (as an option) you can add even more flexibility, allowing you to keep a truly digital signal, with the A to D conversion.
Whether you are looking for a speaker processor to replace an existing unit that is failing/aging, adding processing to amplifiers in a system that either has little to no speaker system processing, or looking for a full advanced system controller for your active speaker system, the ASC48 may be the right tool for the job!
