New Distribution Partners in Japan and Brazil
In January 2017, AFMG’s worldwide distributor network was expanded by two new partners in Japan and Brazil. Distribution partners of AFMG are recognized professionals in their markets and do not only provide local sales assistance but also technical support and training opportunities.
In Japan AFMG’s efforts are now headed by Tokyo-based J.TESORI and their director Joji Kuriyama. Kuriyama-san has been a pioneer in the development of professional digital audio systems. For many years he worked for major audio companies as a technical advisor and general manager. In December 2016, J.TESORI already held an introductory presentation in Tokyo which will soon be followed by seminars teaching AFMG products in Japanese.
AFMG customers in Brazil will be supported by industry professionals Joel Brito and Aldo Soares. Mr Soares is the director of ARS, a well-known acoustic consultancy company based in Brasilia, who will handle all sales inquiries.
As a very active member and past president of AES Brazil, Mr Brito brings in-depth theoretical background on AFMG’s products. Their first EASE® training is planned for July 2017.
AFMG managing director Stefan Feistel comments: “We are really excited to team up with these two forward-thinking companies who are leading in their respective markets. Our customers in Japan and in Brazil will be able to receive local support and trainings in their language and during their business hours. This is just one more great example of AFMG’s continuing success in developing its global network of partners and distributors.”

AFMG Contributions to 172nd ASA Meeting in Honolulu
The 172nd Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America took place in Honolulu, from Nov 28th to Dec 2nd 2016. It was the 5thjoint meeting of the ASA with the Acoustical Society of Japan. The ASA gathers people from all areas of acoustics around the world semi-annually for a week of academic and practical knowledge exchange.
AFMG is happy to have been represented directly by Wolfgang Ahnert from Berlin and additionally by our North American team. Co-authored by Stefan Feistel, Dr. Ahnert’s two papers focused on theoretical background questions being taken into account for advancing AFMG’s simulation software. AFMG NA team members Ana Jaramillo and Bruce Olson took an in-depth look at real life applications of computer modeling and acoustical optimization.
We are proud to announce that at the meeting Ana Jaramillo was appointed Secretary of the Technical Committee in Architectural Acoustics of the ASA. This decision underlines her wide range of acoustic knowledge and experience.
